HSBC and Colombo National Museum partnership

Ongoing resoration of six of the museum's galleries

Project date: Ongoing since 2007

Since 2004 HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives has worked with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and National Heritage in Sri Lanka on this ongoing restoration project. HSBC has sponsored the refurbishment of six of the galleries at the Colombo National Museum.

The work has been carried out to make the exhibitions more accessible to visitors and enable them to better understand the history of Sri Lankan culture. With trilingual information panels, state-of-the-art lighting systems and beautiful display cabinets, visitors are able to experience how the country's culture and civilisation has evolved.
