Dato' Chuah Thean Teng

Dubbed the Father and Master of Malaysian Batik Painting, Chuah was the first to adapt the ancient Asian craft of wax-dying cloth into the medium of fine art. His colourful images of Malaysian life are internationally acclaimed, having been selected for use by UNICEF and hung in major galleries, museums and private collections around the world.

Mohammed Bahroodin Ahmad

Affectionately known as Cikgu Baha (teacher Baha) Mohammed Bahroodin Ahmad is a performer, director, playwright and teacher who has taught others to understand and love the Malay cultural arts. He is one of Malaysia's foremost performing interpreters of local stage performance genre 'Bangsawan' and 'Boria'.

Dato' Lim Bian Yam

Lim is the personification of Penang's love affair with food. An extraordinary chef and master florist, generations of people in Penang have gained from his expertise and efforts to conserve the local Penang food delicacies. He founded the Malayan Institute of Flower Arranging in Panang, the Penang Floral Art Society in 1962 and the International School of Home Cookery. In 2004 Lim won the Most Distinguished Creation Award in the Hong Kong International Flower Show, defeating renowned floral artists from all over the world.
