Mythologies Retold
Mythologies Retold was a traditional dance performance produced by Sandhya Raman, a costume designer from the National Institute of Design
Project date: 2005
According to Sandhya, ‘Mythologies Retold' sought to discover new sources of strength and inspiration for contemporary women. It explored stories and mythologies and showcased them through dance.
Sandhya was inspired by a collection of company period paintings housed at the National Gallery of Modern Art. The exhibition was curated by artist and collector Jaya Appasamy who also founded the Rasaja Foundation for Cultural and Educational Activities in 1984.
