Since its inception in 2006, the Design Miami ⁄ Designer of the Future Award has been dedicated to promoting the work of young creatives who push the boundaries of art and architecture and change the way we understand design. For 2008, Design Miami ⁄ has expanded this Award to include more than one winner.

Design Miami/ Basel, has named Martino Gamper, Max Lamb, Julia Lohmann, and Clemens Weisshaar & Reed Kram as its 2008 Designers of the Future. They are each exhibiting new work created exclusively for Design Miami ⁄ Basel 08. Each winning designer was given a brief to design a new object, series or installation using concrete and wool. The exhibitions are supplemented by video demonstrating the process behind the new designs.
